Time Forgotten

Hello Classy Cards 'n Such blog fans!

I'm Debbie, and I help Beverly out with behind the scenes work for the blog and other things. It's a lot of fun getting to see the Design Team's creations in advance, plus all the neat stuff that Beverly orders for Classy Cards 'n Such store.

When I saw the Prairie Chic 6 x 6 paper pad by Bo Bunny, I knew right away what I wanted to do for a card.

For the base of my cards, I like to use 110 lb. weight cardstock. This gives me a nice sturdy background to add layers.

The background gray wood paper is from the Prairie Chic 6 x 6 paper pad by Bo Bunny. Using a dual tipped ball stylus from the Paper Blossoms Paper Tool Kit, I embossed the lines between the planks of wood. To make the wood look more aged, I sanded the paper with a sanding block and rubbed white ink for a weathered look.

The Wagon Wheel and Barbed Wire are new from Cheery Lynn Designs. They are the perfect accents for the background paper. The deep detail on both dies really gives the feel of old and worn. First I sanded the wheel and used a brown marker to bring out the depth of the wood of the wheel. I used the small Joy! Foam Pads to give dimension under both dies. For the center hub of the wheel, I added a brass colored brad.

Since I wanted the Wagon Wheel and Barbed Wire to look like they had been forgotten in time, I used dark green cardstock and cut apart the new PoppyStamps Leafy Sprig Border and wove the sprigs between the wheel spokes. Glossy Accents was used to adhere the sprigs to the back of the wheel.

I added the Grass Border die from Impression Obsession. I cut the grass in both tan and olive green cardstock and added more Joy! Foam Pads for depth.

To finish the shabby look, the flowers are from the Memory Box die Flower Mound. I used the small dual tipped stylus from the Paper Blossoms Paper Tool Kit to shape the flowers and glued them on with Glossy Accents.

Other tools used:

Tweezer Bee
Paper Blossoms Craft Molding Mat
Silhouette Pick-Me-Up - to pick up flowers
Metal Snippers - to cut apart the Barbed Wire die
Crafters Tools - to pop out flowers from die

Thanks for letting me share my card. Have a great day!

Tulips for Spring

Hi, it's Misti again!

I saw tulips for sale in the store the other day and I almost did a happy dance!!!  I'm ready for a little Spring, so I'm pulling out some more flower stamps. I LOVE the way Impression Obsession stamps, stamp.
The detail on them is incredible and they stamp so nice and even.

I stamped the tulip stamp from Iris and Tulip in black ink.   Then colored it in using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers, Barn Door and Peeled Paint with the Tim Holtz Water Brush

I chose two papers from the Kaisercraft Porcelain Rose 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad.  I backed the panels with black cardstock and then added Black Pearls to the tulip panel.

Check out the Impression Obsession stamp section in the Classy Cards 'n Such store!

Washi Glitter Hello card

Hi, it's Holly posting today!  I pulled out some glitter and some washi tape and played around with those today.  I came up with this fun card to share with you.

I love these two washi tapes and I wanted to find a way to use them together on a card.  Since they both have green in them, I thought green glitter could be the unifying force.  So I gave it a shot, and this is what happened.

I adhered a strip of the Aqua Antique Floral Washi Tape on a diagonal on white cardstock. Then I laid down a strip of the 1/4" Scor-Tape above and below the Washi tape.  A strip of the Antique Floral Washi Tape, (pink and white), was adhered above the Scor-Tape.  I then laid down another strip of the Scor-Tape above the pink and white Washi tape, and then repeated with the Aqua tape and another strip of Scor-Tape.

I carefully trimmed off the excess edges of the tapes and then set my piece down on some scratch paper.  I peeled the liners off all the Scor-Tape strips, and then I covered them with Peeled Paint Distress Glitter.  I used the Glitter Roll technique from Technique Junkies to make sure all the glitter was well-adhered, and then I shook off the excess.

I glued this piece down onto a green card base.  I used the same green cardstock to cut out the Hello - set of 2 die (Cheery Lynn Designs), and then I adhered the "Hello" to the bottom of the glittery background piece.

I thought about leaving this card alone at this point, but it just seemed to be screaming for a 3D flower.  I cut out the Olive Branches and glued them down on the left side. Next I cut out the Sweet William Strip, and used the tiny tweezers from the Paper Blossoms Tool Kit to curl up the flower petals. I used a rhinestone brad to adhere the flowers together and then I glued the flower down over the Olive Branches.

I love how the Washi tape looks with the glitter in between them. It's so much fun to use glitter and the Scor-Tape and so much easier than messing with liquid glue!

Your card is so bright and cheery! Thanks Holly!

Floral Medallion

Hi, it's Joy today, posting a card for the latest challenge for Classy Cards 'n Such.  Today the challenge is for a shaped card.  This will be a fun challenge!  Here is my card:

I used a stamp set by JustRite Stamps called Just Keep Calm.  This is a giant stamp set with 64 images and shapes.

I also used the largest die in the set by Spellbinders called Nested Medallion Labels Dies. The stamped medallion and the sentiment stamped on the scallop die were popped up with Joy! Foam Pads.

Since the card is shaped like a flower, the card would not fit in an ordinary envelope so I used the Envelope Punch Board.  My board stays out on my desk so it's easy to grab. Lately it seems like my cards are not exactly 4.25 x 5.5 and the board makes it easy to fold an envelope perfectly.  I like using a thinner paper and this way I use up my old designer papers.

Why don't you join in the challenge?  Why not challenge a friend to join you?  Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY Stamping Day!

Your card is really pretty with great advice! Thanks Joy!

Let's Get In Shape

Hi everyone! It's Diane today!

This week at Classy Cards 'n Such, the challenge is to Get In Shape. Make a shaped card other then a circle, square, regular A2 card, etc.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE shaped cards!!  They can be so fun and unique!  So, lets get right to it!!

I made my cute dresser card starting with the base paper from Classy Cards 'n Such. This is a wonderful 111# weight paper called Nude Curious Metallic, a beige paper with a hint of pink in it! I cut four panels, one larger for the drawers to sit on and three drawers.  I inked around the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Old Paper.

Brads were added to each for the dresser pulls. For the bottom of my dresser, I used Spellbinders Vintage Labels and Banner Dies, using the smallest label die, and just using the top part!! I love how this looks like a real dresser and the embossing detail from the die really adds to it!

Sticking out of the dresser drawers are two doilies. The doilies were made using a Cheery Lynn Designs Snowflowers Set 1 die. For the second doily, I cut off a piece from Cheery Lynn Designs Border die Border Carnivale.  For fun, I added four playful little kitties using the new, just released die from PoppyStamps Baby Kittens.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope my card has inspired you to join us this week in our Get In Shape challenge!

What a cute and playful card! Thanks Diane!
